Workplace Strategy

that delivers for your

company and your people

Human-centered strategy for companies navigating hybrid work, culture, growth and space.

Led by Google’s former Global Workplace Design Lead.

Tell me if these sound like problems you’re facing.

  • Hybrid is creating more friction than flexibility.

  • You’re planning a new office, but don’t know what your people actually need.

  • Culture is slipping and you’re not sure if it’s a people problem, a policy problem, or a space problem.

  • You’re growing fast and your workplace can’t keep up.

“Sam's influence is clear whether he's leading a project or working as part of a team. His strategic thinking is matched by a willingness to get hands-on — ensuring that plans actually become results."

What we do

Space and portfolio strategy - How, where and when should your people work? Sam maps your culture, your workflow, and your real estate situation to build a strategy where your people and your company thrive.

Hybrid work design - Part policy, part operations, part technology, part space design. A genuine, working approach for your teams, your culture, and the moments that matter.

Culture & change strategy - A workplace change is also a culture change. Sam brings human centered methods and change management expertise to make sure the transition lands, not just launches. And he’ll be there on the journey with you.

The Sam Slater difference.

I was at the coalface of one of the most complex organizations on earth for a decade. I’ve seen the impact when a workplace strategy aligns to how people think, collaborate and make decisions - and I’ve seen when it doesn’t.

I bring that experience without the 8-person team markup, the powerpoint theatre, or the 6-month delay between strategy and action.

I’m in the vanguard for the most innovative future-of-work thinking, but know when it’s appropriate, because I focus on meeting the company and user requirements first. In other words, I listen to what you need.

Case Study

Work Lounge boosts community, productivity and focus

Working with a large multinational, I converted dead portfolio spaces into activated culture hubs, drawing people into the office, and improving employee engagement with the company.

Work Lounge is a communal workspace product providing a warm, inviting and productive atmosphere to compliment a userʼs team space. The high design aesthetic and hospitality oriented operating model drove office attendance after the pandemic, bolstered a sense of community, and cracked the in-office productivity formula.

I scaled the product to be cost validated, risk mitigated, schedule proofed and quality assured, creating an entirely new space class for this organization. This approach enabled rapid deployment across all global regions (17 lounges in 18 months) and ~40% savings compared to an ad-hoc roll out. I drove interior design, policy, operations and process design, furniture, lighting, material requirements, pilot structure, research strategy, costing, brand development, and guidance.

Approximately 50,000 people use Work Lounge every week, fundamentally changing how the company works
