🕶️ Why working together changes everything.

Or 4 reasons why small business leaders are crucial to each other’s success

Something that’s often overlooked as I’ve worked with business leaders over the past 10 years: finding clarity is hard to do on your own.

That’s not a problem in the small business community, where generosity is the norm. While corporate America oftentimes ringfences their expertise and hoards information, small business leaders share. They realize that the small business world is not zero sum, and that a rising tide lifts all ships.

Peer-to-peer workshopping bolsters that dynamic in important ways by:

  1. Working through challenges with other business leaders exposes blind spots.

  2. You hear how others frame similar problems.

  3. You borrow language, structures, and approaches.

  4. Your thinking gets sharper simply by being in the same room.

But there’s also something deeper happening.

Community forms when small business owners think together with honesty and generosity. Not networking in the transactional sense, but real connection. The kind where you realize you’re not uniquely behind or failing. You’re just a human trying to run a business in a complex world.

That sense of community belonging is so often overlooked or downgraded, but it’s a resilience builder. Businesses grow stronger when owners feel supported, seen, and less alone in the work.

A recent Clarity Clinic I facilitated had a diverse group of businesses; a recycling startup, an ADHD coach, an AI consultancy, a tarot card reader, and others. I created the structure and psychological safety, and they clubbed together to solve one business’s very real problem - ‘How might we maintain a fresh customer pipeline’.

These disparate businesses used my exercises to cross-pollinate ideas, share tools and experiences, and give advice. We helped this business design a way to diversify their offering to expand their pipeline by meeting new markets where they are. The community focus of the workshop made this possible.

How can The Clarity Clinic help you?

The Clarity Clinic is a roll-your-sleeves-up working session designed to help you step out of the noise and into focused, grounded thinking about your business. It centers on creativity, and leverages the techniques that made me successful over ten years working at Google as a strategist and innovation manager.

The Clarity Clinic is small by design; only 10 spots to promote connection. The 9 other businesses will be from across the industry spectrum. That breadth of perspectives and experience is creative fuel. Plus it’s hyper local, so you’re networking with folks who can actually make a difference to your business.

You will leave with:

  • A clearly defined understanding of your most pressing business challenge.

  • A personalized 30, 60, 90-day roadmap that turns insight into action.

  • Practical tools you can reuse long after the workshop ends.

  • Renewed confidence in your ability to make good decisions.

  • A small, connected community of fellow business owners who show up with honesty and care.

The aim is to create enough clarity to set you on the right path immediately, and give you frameworks to stay on that path in the long term.
